Spider Monster

I had an idea last year to paint a monster or mythical creature for the month of May last year and this Spider Monster was one of the paintings that came out of it. A friend challenged me to paint / draw one of our mutual friends as a Monster for this little project and I obliged.
I painted most of this in gray values and tried a gradient map towards the end. I’ve never really tried this method of colouring before I like the over all feel but I think I need to practice and learn to use this tool a bit more. This was all done in procreate.
